The NX Mountain Biking team have had two awesome events in the past couple of months.
In June the team were at Totara Park in Manukau, a very well established park with a range of challenging descents, obstacles and climbs. The weather on the day was threatening but remained fine. However with so much rain in the days, weeks and months prior, the course was as veritable mud bog! Quite the shock for first-timers.
Bikers returned with “kilograms” of mud stuck to the bikes and bodies, however smiles shone through as stories of spills and slides were told and retold!
Julys event was in the Stunning Waitawa Regional park.
With panoramic views of the Hunua Ranges, Hauraki Gulf and Coromandel, a beautiful midwinters day of sun and soft breeze. The scene was all set for the most gruelling course in the calendar. Characterised by big climbs and narrow single track, the course was a real test of the kids mettle.
Once again, the NX riders pushed their bikes, bodies and minds to achieve their own performance goals and cross the line triumphantly.
The Next race is in the familiar surrounds and sands of the Woodhill Bike Park on 27 August.
