Our two choirs, Massed Choir and Nox Vox took part in the The Kids Sing competition and Gala Performance on September 13th. The Kids Sing is the junior version of the secondary school festival Big Sing. This year we had the largest cohort of over 70 students, conducted by Miles Timmis our choir director accompanied by Sandra Kang and organised by Sylvia Watson our music HOD.
This prestigious National event gives Primary, Middle School, and Intermediate Students a chance to compete in a professional setting, work with some of New Zealand’s top composers, and conductors, and get professionally reviewed.
The effort these students and teachers put into this competition accumulated in over 60 hours of rehearsal time, not including extra school performances and meetings.
All the hard work paid off with Northcross receiving a Bronze place in the competition and winning the audience favorite award!
