On August 1st Northcross held our second Community of Learning Orchestra Day. This year we had over 125 students playing music, which provided us with an impressive sound. We brought together musicians from 5 different schools across our school community; Northcross Intermediate, Oteha Valley Primary, Sherwood Primary, Long Bay Primary and Torbay Primary.
It was a great opportunity for our Northcross students to take leadership roles and lead the rehearsal sessions. It was also a valuable opportunity for our accompanying teachers and parents to connect with each other. We had a large variety of musicians with a range of experience levels to rehearse and finished the day with a performance of In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
