This week, amost 450 of our students competed in the Northcross Mathex. Both year 7 and year 8 students completed this intense, fast paced competition to see who came out as top of school for ‘team maths problem solving’ bragging rights. This year, our top three year 7 teams all scored 100 points, but Room 40 did so the quickest, followed by room 55 and then a mixed team from Puriri. Our Year 8 competition saw a mixed Nikau team win overall, second to room 54 and then third placed ought in a tight tie breaker – room 54 beat Totara team by seconds to claim third place.
All teams should be proud of themselves and the perseverance, resilence and top mathematical skills they showed.
