Northcross Intermediate was proud to take part in the Oneroa Cultural Celebration 2026 at Sherwood School.
Our students represented Northcross through our Chinese Instrument Group and Kapa Haka, proudly sharing their cultural talents with the wider school community.
Our Chinese Instrument Group featured Yu Xin QIAN (Iris) from Room 8 and Miao Miao ZHANG (Nicole) from Room 58, who performed on the pipa, a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument. The pipa has been played in China for almost 2,000 years and is often described as the “Chinese lute”.
Our Kapa Haka, led by Mark Jensen, also proudly represented Northcross through waiata, performance and haka.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate culture, build confidence and proudly represent Northcross Intermediate. We are incredibly proud of their commitment, enthusiasm and effort in preparing for the event.
