NX Warrior 2023

Drawing inspiration from the Netflix Series ‘100 Physical’, we thought Northcross Intermediate would be the perfect environment to replicate this gruelling event. An event where 100 people compete against each other for the top male and female position, and take home some epic prizes. A massive shout out to our sponsors Action Ninja World, Northern Rocks Climbing, Tree Adventures, Jump, and BurgerFuel who put up over $1000 worth of prizes. Our students have a reputation for taking on a challenge, and sure enough over 200 students registered for the pain and the gain. After a series of preliminary physical exercises we selected the top 100 students – 50 boys and 50 girls.

Over the first 4 weeks in Term 3 the 100 warrior wannabees endured 40 different physical and mental challenges – each round came the pressure of elimination. Courageously, they withstood a host of wild tests that pushed their limits – blood, glory, sweat, tears, laughter, and insane personal growth…. we had it all! A few memorable moments worthy of mention were the: modified Beep Test that involved carrying chairs, judo rolls, and push ups, 1 km shuttle run carrying 15kg of gravel, salt ice bath, and eating a mixed cup of locusts, mealworm and crickets.

The top ten (5 girls and 5 boys) made it through to the final showdown. For 40 minutes they honoured the struggle and pushed through 5 different timed obstacle courses. Over 180 students came out to cheer their fellow classmates on. In secret, Mrs England calculated the final scores for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and the winners were announced at assembly.

Massive congratulations to our girl competitors: 1st Ada Moxon (Rm 53), 2nd Mia Allen ( Rm 19) and 3rd Rada Pazniak (Rm 55)

A legendary effort from the boys ; 1st  Blake Dennis (Rm 48), 2nd Mylo Withers (Rm 54) and 3rd Raymond Zu (50)

Thank you so much to all the staff who helped organise the entire show: Ms Malone, Mr McNeil, Mr Washer, Mr Dennis, Mr Vallender, Ms Hale, Mr Palmer, Ms Smith, Mrs Haslam, and Ms England – so appreciate you all. Also, a massive shout out to Room 53 and Room 46 for helping setup and run the events.

NX Warrior 2024, see you soon!
