On Wednesday, 11 June, 22 talented Northcross Intermediate dancers proudly represented our school at the National Dance Challenge (NDC), competing in both the Lyrical and Hip Hop divisions. It was an incredibly competitive event, with dancers from across the region showcasing outstanding talent.
We are thrilled to share that our Lyrical troupe achieved an impressive 2nd Place, while our Hip Hop troupe finished a fantastic 5th Place. Adding to these incredible results, Northcross was also honoured with the Student Choreography Award for our lyrical performance, ‘This Is Me’. This special award recognises the creativity and talent of our student choreographers and is a wonderful testament to the dedication and hard work of our Year 8 dance leaders. A huge congratulations to Katiya Chhour (Room 48) and Cynthia Wang (Room 47), who choreographed ‘This Is Me’. Their vision, creativity, and leadership inspired the troupe and contributed to this outstanding achievement.
These results are a reflection of the commitment, perseverance, and teamwork of all our dancers. Over the past term and a half, they have dedicated countless hours to rehearsals while balancing a range of other extracurricular commitments Throughout the lead-up to the event, our dancers demonstrated exceptional energy, professionalism, and determination. They represented Northcross Intermediate with pride both on and off the stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved.
