The Netball North Harbour weekly competition ran from 5 May for Year 7 and 7 May for Year 8, concluding on 18 August for Year 7 and 20 August for Year 8. With Year 7 teams playing every Tuesday evening and Year 8 teams every Thursday evening, this provided a fantastic opportunity for our students to participate in competitive sport throughout the winter season.
This year, 24 Northcross Intermediate Netball teams competed in the North Harbour competition, involving over 230 students who took to the courts each Tuesday or Thursday night with great enthusiasm and determination. Despite the winter conditions, every player gave 100% effort and demonstrated real resilience, commitment, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the season.
The season finished particularly strongly, with five Year 7 teams competing for 1st or 2nd place in their grade and four Year 8 teams competing for 1st or 2nd place. The final results were:
- 7/2 – Grade 2: 1st Place
- 7/6 – Grade 6: 1st Place
- 7/9 – Grade 8: 2nd Place
- 7/11 – Grade 11: 2nd Place
- 7/12 – Grade 12: 2nd Place
8/1 – Grade 1: 2nd Place- 8/2 – Grade 2: 2nd Place
- 8/8 – Grade 9: 2nd Place
- 8/11 – Grade 12: 2nd Place
