Future Problem Solving – World Champions

Two Northcross teams competed in the FPS International Competition at UMass University, Amherst, Massachusetts from June 5-11th. The FPS topic was currency of the future. Competing in the Junior Division was Harini Nellipudi, Samantha Ridgley, Naomi Wanghan and Karry Gong. Competing in the Middle Division was Betty Shen, Matthew Fitness, Mitchell Baird and Olivia Rose. The competition was tough, with teams from all over the world. Each division had over 50 teams competing for first placing. After a very busy 5 days the Prize Giving was held on Sunday morning. Our NX Scenario writer, Anthony Thompson also competed on the international stage and impressed the judges. Thanks must go to Janine Joyce for her expert coaching and wise scenario writing tips.

The Results were as follows:

FPS Junior Division – First placing for the Global Issues Problem Solving Exam, second placing for the dramatics.

FPS Middle Division – First placing for the Global Issues Problem Solving Exam.

Scenario Writing – Anthony Thompson, second placing.

A very busy trip with outstanding results for Northcross Intermediate School.
