120 keen runners took to the challenging 3.5km NX Cross Country course at Long Bay Beach . We had beautiful weather on the day, allowing our runners to achieve incredibly fast times. They all gave an outstanding effort, resulting in very impressive times. The top 10 runners in each gender/age group category went on to represent us at the NH Zone Day.
Our NX Cross Country team, made up of our 40 fastest runners, produced outstanding results on the Sanders Reserve course. The race is always very competitive with the best runners from all North Harbour Intermediates showing up, ready to give it all to win the event. Our NX athletes certainly did us proud, showing incredible determination and resilience, resulting in excellent final placings. These top results include: Ry Ward 3rd and Connor Mees 10th in Y8 Boys; Freya Beaumont 1st, Kyla Wikiriwhi 4th, Sophie Herde 5th, and Mia Nancarrow 7th in Y8 Girls; Georgia Stanton 10th in Y7 Girls. Our overall team placings were very impressive too – Y7 Girls finished 4th overall, our Y7 Boys placed 3rd, our Y8 Girls 2nd and our Y8 Boys took out top school overall!
