On Thursday August 20th we took 4 teams of students to compete in the Auckland Mathex competition. These teams were the top teams from our school (as seen at the North Harbour Mathex competition, which we ran at our school in June).
Year 7 teams (competed with 128 teams from the wider Auckland area)
Team 1: Leah Wang, Agnes Jun, Anxia F and Lex Zheng
Team 2: Jayden Li, Emily Zhou, Victor Chen and Margot Silander
Year 8 teams (competed with 140 teams from the wider Auckland area)
Team 1: Yeonjun Moon, Allen Bai, Andrew Wan, Shawn Park (Hugo Jiao , injured on the day but came to support)
Team 2: Chris Zhou, Jamie He, Ryan Deng, Jayden Peng
All of our teams came within the top 6 or 7 for each year group, and we were totally thrilled that our 1st Year 8 team won the tightly contested Year 8 competition! Amazing results and well deserved for all their hard work and incredible teamwork. Thanks to all the teachers and parents involved for the support and training of these students.
