The Northcross Stuffy team rose to the challenge when they performed at the College Shakespeare festival last Friday evening. The group have been rehearsing their full show throughout term 1 and the 15 minute extract from Othello is a part of their whole performance which will be on stage in Term 2.
The Shakespeare festival was held at Carmel College on Friday as well as Saturday and Stuffy did very well, particularly as this was their first performance, their stage presence, confidence, and energy were amazing to watch. The judges praised their chorus work and singled them out for a special mention.
Eventual winners were Rangitoto College, Glenfield College and Long Bay College for a 5 minute Macbeth piece. These schools will go onto the nationals in Wellington.
Our Stuffy crew and their inspirational Director and Producer, Mark Jensen, can be very proud of what they achieved and we look forward to seeing them in action again in Term 2.
