Chess Power Team Nationals and Champions Trophy
This year Northcross entered a team of eight (Justin Wang, Dylan Sun, Dillon Sinaáu, Ryan Chen, Rex Chen, Maximilian Fan, Aleksei Korolev and Leo Yang) into the Online Team Nationals event. The boys all played brilliantly and took first place. They were the top eight place getters also with seven of the boys achieving perfect scores.
For the individual Champions Trophy most of the students elected to play onsite which meant it was an over the board event. Rex and Ryan Chen took out the top two places with an equal score of 7.5 out of 9.
A fantastic way to end the final chess competition of the year – many thanks to all the students (with amazing support from their families) for taking part in the tournament.
