In Week 4, three Northcross teams had the opportunity to participate in the North Shore Book Battle, generously sponsored by Barfoot & Thompson and Scholastic. This event has grown over the last few years and we were pleased to be able to host it in our school gym. Our teams had been training for several months with a focus on specific assigned texts, which they were required to have an in-depth knowledge of.
This year there were over 220 participants, spanning across more than 50 teams of Year 5-8 students from across the North Shore. It was a tight race, with only two points between 1st and 3rd place. We were thrilled that our NX B team were placed 1st, with Takapuna Normal Intermediate in 2nd, and Rosmini College in 3rd. A big congratulations to all our teams, and especially to Scarlett, Apple, Lauren and Sophia!
