The Boys Hockey team had a very successful day at Auckland Champs this year. Over the weeks since the North Harbour competition the team have continued to work hard in trainings, focusing on honing the basics and game strategies. Throughout the tournament day the boys stuck to the game plan and played an exciting yet composed brand of hockey, proving to themselves and others watching the calibre that they are able to compete at.
After making it through pool games and semi finals the NX team continued to play with confidence, both in attack and on defence, against an inform Sommerville Intermediate team in the final. The NX boys made the most of the scoring opportunities during the game and dominated defensively, finishing the game ahead 1-0. It was a well deserved Gold Medal win! Well done boys!
