Twenty years ago, the installation of the Astro courts transformed an often-muddy grass area that was unusable in winter, to an all year-round playing surface. It has been of great benefit to the school being used for PE lessons, many sports team trainings, and a year-round play area for students during morning tea and lunch times, as well as being used for trainings by community sports teams.
Over the summer holidays the team from Tiger Turf have worked tirelessly to replace the well-used and worn out Astro court surface. From removing the old surface, breaking up the old base to re-level the surface, replace some fencing and the installation the new court surface and lines. The new multi-sport courts are marked out for games of hockey, netball, tennis, Turbo touch and Futsal/handball as well as a double lane running track around the perimeter of the field. No doubt this will continue to be a great asset to the school for many more years.
