Arts Academy are Showquest Stars

In Term 2, the Arts Academy participated in New Zealand’s largest on stage school competition ‘Showquest’, This competition is all about telling a story on stage through dance, drama, music and visual graphics. Schools are given a maximum of 10 minutes on stage to showcase their performance to audience at the Aotea Centre in Auckland city.

The Arts Academy decided to tell an emotive story titled ‘Here today, gone tomorrow’ about appreciating the people in your life while they are here. We decided to bring awareness to the importance of being in the moment and spending time, sharing love and laughter with those around us. Tomorrow they could be gone.

Showquest involves months of preparation and dedication towards rehearsals and the end goal of a live performance. As a result of all our hard work, Northcross blew the Showquest judges away, receiving 1st place in Auckland in Regionals and ‘Best Drama’ in Nationals. What an achievement and honour for our talented performers and their teacher/director, Chloe Smith.
