Year 7 Challenger Series

The Year 7 Challenger Series is off to a fantastic start! The level of excitement and positivity from the students has been wonderful to witness.

So far, many groups have visited Tiritiri Matangi, a world-renowned, predator-free wildlife sanctuary. It was a privilege for the students to see rare, endangered species like the kōkako, takahē, and hihi in their natural habitat.

Our trips with “Barefoot Harry” have also been a highlight. Harry’s mission is to bridge the gap between children and the wild, fostering a connection to nature through hands-on bushcraft. The feedback from students has been excellent, with many enjoying the fun, practical nature of the sessions.

There is plenty more to look forward to:

  • Marae Visits: Commencing next week.
  • Orewa Surf & Bigfoot: Starting in Week 6 (held here at Northcross).

We Need Your Help!

We are still looking for parent volunteers, particularly for the Orewa Surf days. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer—we simply need adults who are comfortable standing in the water to provide support and supervision. Let your child’s teacher know if you are available for any of the above activities.
