North Harbour Zone Day
65 Northcross Students comprising of 11 teams competed at the North Harbour Zone Day at Moire Park, Massey. Four teams have been invited to compete at the Auckland Zone Day at Cornwall Park on the 10 May (some of the selected NX Orienteerers in the photo above). The categories are as follows. The Year 7 girls team of Katherine Arnold, Summer Evans Clarke, Leci Johnston, Isabelle McMillan, Rada Pazniak and Eva Scott came first. Second place was the Year 7 boys team of Ahmed Abdullah, Max Flinn, jason Hao, Ollie Patmore, Joe Zhang and Tyler Poland. Third was Tyler De Jager, Will Gui, Nolan Guo, Jackson Oddy, Benjamin Seo and Brooks Zou. Also coming third was The Year 8 Boys Team of Ayabe Juichiro, Roy Deng, Lucas Gan, Joshuu Liu and Xavier Turner.
Orienteering – Sprint Series
More than 100 students from Northcross also competed in the Sprint Series. This took place after school on Thursday afternoons at 5 schools around the North Shore. Twenty one NX students, due to their combined times, were invited to compete in the Sprint Series final on Sunday 26 March. Those selected had to compete at Long Bay College in the morning and The AUT Akoranga Campus in the afternoon. Jake Hamblyn was placed 2nd for the Year 7 Boys and Rada Pazniak 3rd for the Year 7 girls.
