It was great to kick off our first NX sporting event for the year. The NX Swim Meet (trials) saw 96 swimmers sign up to compete in the pool. These can be incredibly intense and challenging with some added rivalry with swimmers from a variety of swim clubs across the district. It was awesome to see how everyone pushed themselves to perform at their best while at the same time supporting other competitors. Fun was had by all and the pool was definitely the place to be on a particularly hot February day.
The final event of the day had a few of our swimmers take on Olympian swimmer Dean Kent, in a free style relay medley – and a NX win! Well done to both the Y7 and Y8 relay teams.
Congratulations to the 21 students who will represent Northcross at the NH Zone day in March.
