NX Swim Meet

We officially commenced our sporting year last week with the NX Swim Meet.
As always, it was an enjoyable and successful day for both our swimmers and staff. It was wonderful to see the depth of talent on display, with many students demonstrating impressive skill and determination in the pool. It was also fantastic to see the way students supported and encouraged each other and after the intense racing in the pool celebrating other competitors successes.
Congratulations to all students who competed, and well done to those who achieved placing in their respective disciplines.
A special acknowledgement goes to Nicole Zhang, who secured first place in four of her five events — an outstanding accomplishment.
Keeping with tradition we finished the swim meet with a relay with some our our fastest swimmers going up against each other and teacher Mrs Samy and 3 time Olympian Dean Kent. It was one of the closest races with the Y8 boys touching the wall a fraction ahead of the Y8 girls team (photo of our relay swimmers on the left).
Students will find out soon who has been selected to progress to the North Harbour Zone Day that is to be held next month.
