Talented Y7 baseball player, Ben Butler, has been selected to play for New Zealand in the 12U National Baseball Team that will be travelling to Taiwan to compete in the WBSC World Cup from the 28th July – 6th August.
Ben is also an Auckland 12U Little League representative and will be travelling to South Korea in June to compete in the Little League Asia Pacific Championship. Ben started playing diamond sports when he was two and quickly showed his ability to catch and throw a ball. He is a utility player and can play any position but specialises at short stop and Pitcher. Ben trains with a NZ Pitching coach and is quickly closing in on a pitching speed of 100km per hour.
Ben plays for West City Rebels and his team won the Auckland 12U Little League championship in March this year (pictured with cup).
We wish Ben all the very best for the upcoming international tournaments he will be competing in.
