95 keen runners took to the challenging 3.5km NX Cross Country course at Long Bay Beach. The conditions were perfect for long distance running, a clear cool day with a slight breeze off the water, making for some fast finishes. Even though our NX athletes were in competitive mode this did not stop them supporting and encouraging each other, it was impressive to see the amazing sportsmanship.
Running an event like this (no pun intended) involves a lot of work and could not be possible without the amazing assistance of our student marshals and helpers. A special thanks to the students of Room 24 and Room 15 who helped set up the course, provided invaluable marshal support and packed up at the end of the day. A number even arrived in the early morning to assist get things ready for the races.
The top 10 runners in each gender/age group category will go on to represent us at the NH Zone Day on Friday the 8th of August. Well done to all those who took part and congratulations to each of the top 3 finishers (see photos below).
