Girls Tag Team (NH Champions)
This year’s NH Tag Zone was held at Kaipatiki Domain in Glenfield. Throughout the day, our girls played some awesome tag while having to work really hard to achieve each win. Their resilience, effort and determination enabled them to win some close games in pool play and playoffs to eventually make it into the final against Belmont. Our girls played with a lot of fire and skill and despite having already played many a tough game they routed Belmont to win the final comfortably and earn a spot to attend the Auckland Champions of Champions Tournament. Unfortunately, Auckland Champs was quite a step up in size and skill level for us, but nonetheless, the girls gave it their all. Overall, it was a very good learning experience for all involved. A massive thank you to Jarryd Russell for looking after the girls on the day.
Boys Tag Team
With not a lot of preparation under the belt, the NH Harbour Zone Day was more about having some fun and just doing the best we could. A massive thank you must go out to Tane Hart for looking after our boys team at such short notice. Considering the lack of prep and training time, the lads played some awesome tag and eventually made it through to the Semi Finals. Unfortunately for us, we came up against a very slick MBIS team who started hard & fast and won through to the final. In the 3rd/4th playoff the boys played some of their best tag and beat Takapuna, who had beaten us earlier in the day. A heartening and brave effort to finish 3rd after a tough day!
