The week of the 5 June, Northcross will be hosting 5 Mathex competitions. Tuesday 6 June, selected students from every Year 7 class will compete in teams of four to solve as many maths problems as possible in 30 minutes. This competition will start at approximately 12pm – we will have some limited seating in the gym for parents who might like to come and watch.
The morning of Wednesday 7th of June, we are hosting primary schools from around the Bays to compete in a Year 5 and 6 Mathex competition. Our Year 8 students will then compete at around 12pm on the Wednesday. Our top 2 Year 7 teams and top 2 Year 8 teams will then go on to compete in the North Shore Competition on Thursday 8 June at approximately 10am. This is again hosted by Northcross Intermediate and parents are welcome to come and watch our top mathematicians fight it out with approximately 50 other teams from around the North Shore.
