Another successful Dancesport season wrapped up on Friday 17th November with the Inter-school Dancesport Championships. After 16 weeks of lessons, our 56-strong team headed to Eventfinda Stadium to perform their Cha Cha, Jive, Samba, and Foxtrot routines. Our students were impeccably behaved and turned out for their day on the dance floor, positively supporting their teammates and fellow competitors throughout. Once again, Northcross was a standout with 14 of our couples making it through to the finals. Kieran Fish and Bianca Bothma won the Points Cup for claiming two 1st places and two 2nd places. Top studio-grade couple went to Raelene Li and Naomi Yu while Helena Hou and Stella Chen were the top registered-grade couple. Asher Whitehead received “Most Dynamic Male Dancer”, Naomi Wangham was the “Most Dynamic Female Dancer”, while Yigu Ye was awarded “Most Promising Dancer”. These fantastic performances saw Northcross take out top school for the 5th year in a row. Congratulations to all our wonderful dancers, particularly the finalists and award winners. Special thanks goes to our amazing dance tutors – Angela and Kingsley Gainsford – who prepared our team for success yet again.
