Daffodil Day

On Friday the 30th of August, Northcross set up a fundraiser for Daffodil Day. Run by Olivia and Sally from Room 22, we held a mufti day, bake sale, and student vs teacher basketball game. It took quite a bit of time and work to set it all up, but it all paid off on the day as it was very successful, as we had raised $3,375.80 in total! We had to get to school early with a couple of our friends–Isobel, Chloe, Frankie, and Paige and start to collect the food from Kauri that we were going to sell. We also collected mufti day money and sold daffidol pins. At morning tea time we stayed in the tuck shop to sell the food to some very hungry students, we thankfully had so much food that we could also sell some at lunch-time, where almost double the amount of people came.

The Cancer Society tells us Each day 74 Kiwis hear the words, “You have cancer.” Daffodil Day is a chance to show your friends and family affected by cancer they’re not alone.

We are so grateful for everyone’s donations, and for the people who helped us achieve this amazing support for the Cancer Society.
