Please note that Friday, 25th September is a Northcross Teacher Only Day. On this day, the school will be closed to students while our entire teaching team spends the day working directly with world-renowned education researcher Professor John Hattie.
We are very lucky to have secured Professor Hattie to work with our teaches. His groundbreaking research, Visible Learning, draws together thousands of evidence-based studies to determine which strategies have the greatest impact on student achievement. At its heart, Visible Learning occurs when teachers see learning through the eyes of their students, and when students take responsibility for their own learning. Through Visible Learning, we empower our students to become assessment-capable learners who understand what they are learning, why they are learning, how they will know they have learned it, and what their next steps are. Our teachers establish clear learning intentions and explicit success criteria so students know exactly what achievement looks like.
